Founded in 2001 and directed by Frederico Champalimaud, the Golf Course Oitavos Dunes is the 1st golf course in Europe and the 2nd in the World recognized as “Certified Signature Sanctuary – Gold”. The Oitavos Dunes is a continuous loop of holes, nine out nine in, similar to links land courses in Scotland. The sequence is an undisturbed golf experience from start to finish. Distant views of the Atlantic Ocean. presence of the sea is constant, accompanied by the beauty of the Mountain range of Sintra and by the End of the Rock, the most western point of Continental Europe are distinguishable from every hole. The golf course is locted in the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, just 30 minute drive from Lisbon.
Design by Artur Hills, the Golf Course Oitavos Dunes has 18 holes (Par of 71) with a length of 6.303 meter.
